Origins

IBAS Chatswood first opened its doors in 1996. Originally situated near the train station and Westfield Shopping Mall, it was forced to move due to the expansion of the railway station. On March 27, 2004, the centre moved to new premises located adjacent to the shopping mall. The new venue has proven to be more ideal as it caters for a Buddha Hall, classroom, gift shop and other facilities. Since opening at the new premises, it has enjoyed an increased patronage.;

Reverends: Rev. Jian Kuan

Activities:

Since 2003 IBAS Chatswood has conducted Chinese School classes for students aged 5 - 12 years old. The Buddhism classes on offer are held in both English and Chinese languages. Dharma talks are also held on an occasional basis. The Ch’an Meditation classes held in English and Chinese attract over 20 participants each term.

Dharma services are held every Saturday. In addition, special services such as the Great Repentance Dharma Function, the Medicine Buddha Dharma Function and the Ullambana Festival are also held.

The tea house offers an array of vegetarian delicacies, as well as Buddhist literature in English and Chinese, and other merchandise.In March, the temple participated in the fundraising event organised by the local council.
